Selenite Lamp 20cm

This is a 20cm tall lamp carved out of selenite. A traditional bulb inside the lamp diffuses a warm glow through the translucent stone, warming and energizing any room. It's a great alternative to salt lamps. From personal experience, salt lamps cause condensation when they're not on and the resulting water can damage surfaces around the lamp, or even run down into the cord into the switch and cause a fire. Selenite is safe, pretty, and a nice statement piece.

Selenite is a form of gypsum. When it occurs in sheets, it is most properly called selenite. When it occurs in chatoyant, translucent chunks suitable for carving it is most properly called satin spar. The terms are often used interchangeably in casual conversation.

Metaphysically, selenite is known to be a great source for charging and cleansing crystals. It is said to represent the spirit of Selene, goddess of the moon.
