This is a piece of raw rose quartz from South Africa. It has tones from light and almost white to deep, rich pink. It will sit on several of its surfaces, allowing you to show off its distinct sides, and it's also perfect for lapidary work.
Rose quartz is a form of quartz in which aluminum and phosphorus, or dumortierite inclusions colour the material a gentle pink. The density of the microscopic, often needle shaped inclusions can leave the rose quartz almost transparent, opaque, or full of rainbow veils.
