Polychrome Jasper Heart PJH-001S-390-4

This is a remarkable polychrome jasper heart from Madagascar. It is round and puffy, and is almost like two different pieces. One side has large swaths of calm dark greys and earthy reds. The other side is busy and dramatic, accented by a patch of the rarely encountered dragonscale, which is short sharp bands curved like scales. This piece is large and round and reassuring.

Polychrome jasper is also known as desert jasper. It is a form of chalcedony, in which quartz incorporates minerals in patches of vibrant, dramatic colour.

Polychrome jasper is credited with a wide variety of metaphysical properties. It may inspire passion and creativity and certainly connects us with an understanding of the beauty that nature provides.
