Green Aventurine and Blue Apatite Wave Earrings

Handmade with love in Digby, Nova Scotia

These are dangle earrings made with 8mm green aventurine and 4mm blue apatite beads, as well as stainless steel ocean wave charms. The hooks are, of course, 925 sterling silver.

Aventurine is a quartzite, a form of quartzite which often displays “aventurescence”, a surface shimmer caused by the mica or fuchsite inclusions that give it its green colour. Apatite is a soft, commonly forming phosphate mineral, though it often forms abundantly but in the form of small grains. 

Green aventurine has the reputation of a bringer of luck and and a provider of opportunities. It is thought to help us embrace optimism and pursue our goals with joy. Apatite is said to be a stone of manifestation, of goal setting and bringing things to reality.
