Tourmaline is a complex silicate, compounding elements like aluminum, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, and/or potassium. It often forms in black, hair-like structures shot through other minerals like clear quartz or chalcedony.
Clear quartz is said to be the "master healer" and the ultimate magnifier and clarifier of energy. Black tourmaline is said to be exceptionally protective and capable of purifying negative energy.
