Smokey quartz is a variety of quartz crystal. Aluminum molecules have bonded in the crystal lattice and, with natural irradiation, create a dark grey or brown colour. Smokey quartz often forms in conjunction with other members of the quartz family, like amethyst and clear quartz.

Smokey quartz is said to be a protective, grounding stone. It shields us from negative energies and helps us remain calm and in control. It can make us feel better when we're feeling off center.
